Itinerary
Expand allDay 1: Marrakech – Ait Bougumez – Ikhf n Ighir 1,850 m
Leave Marrakech at 07:00 via Sidi Rahal and Demnate, with a stop at the natural bridge of Imi n’Ifri. Follow the mountain road through the Ait Boualli Valley to Ait Bougumez and Agouti. After lunch, hike from Timiyte to the Marabout of Sidi Moussa at 2,000 m, an ancient granary on top of a hill. Descend into the valley to Ikhf n Ighir and a rural guesthouse. Approximately 5 hours by car and 2.5 hours on foot. Overnight at the guesthouse.
Day 2: Ikhf n Ighir – Adazen – Tabant – Marrakech
Follow the trail to Ait Oingdal and climb 250 m to the Adazene ridge for views over the valley. Descend on the other side to Ibaqallioun and its dinosaur footprints. Continue to Tabant, the main village and administrative centre with a post office and souk. Local Berbers gather there on Sundays. Return around Adazen to the guesthouse at Ikhef Nighir, then after lunch return through Tizi n Tirghiste below Azourki and Azilal. Approximately 4 hours walking and 4.5 hours by car.
