Itinerary
Expand allDay 1: Marrakech – Aguersioual – Tizi Oussem – Azib Tamsoulte 2,250 m
Travel through the Haouz plain and Asni to Aguersioual. Climb Tizi Oudite at 2,200 m, discover the Azaden Valley and follow juniper forest to Tizi Oussem. Continue up Assif n Ourehou to Azib Tamsoulte. Approximately 1.5 hours by car and 6 hours walking. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 2: Azib Tamsoulte – Tizi Mzik 2,489 m – Aremd 1,900 m
Follow a side trail through old juniper forest to Tizi Mzik, then descend towards Aremd through the villages. Approximately 5.5 hours walking. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 3: Aremd – Tizi n Tamaterte – Ounaskra 2,150 m
Cross Tizi n Tamaterte at 2,279 m for views of the Imnanen Valley, then continue to Ouanskra. Visit Tachedirte, the highest permanently inhabited village in the High Atlas. Approximately 5 hours walking. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 4: Ouanskra – Aguersioual – Marrakech
Descend through the Imnanen Valley and Berber villages, climb Tizi n Aguersioual at 2,000 m, then zigzag down. Have lunch under walnut trees before returning to Marrakech. Approximately 5 hours walking and 1.5 hours by road.
